The Fouts Family1. Leaders Meeting on June 21-22 - Continue praying for the spiritual development of these leaders!
2. Fouts furlough: July 1 - Aug. 14 - This is our last furlough before returning to live in the States. Please pray that we will listen to Him and the direction that He has for us in the future and that we will trust Him with all the details of that.
3. The Ankole people - these next couple of years will be a big transition period in the work here. We're gradually growing in partnership with the Banyankole church leaders here - moving more towards a fraternalistic model. We will also be transitioning as some of the original team repatriates and replacement team members arrive. Please pray for all of us – the Banyankole and the missionaries - that we will grow in our trust and reliance on God, that we will allow the Spirit to have His way in our hearts and in this mission.
The Gage Family / Mbarara Church of Christ (MCC)1. Saturday (17 June) was “Women’s Day” at MCC where the the Ladies shared in a time of fellowship and teaching. Pray that the Lord will continue to spiritually bless and mature the women of our town church.
2. Saturday evening, we held a special meeting with several of the men of MCC that are leading various ministries. We discussed some important principles of Christian leadership and spiritual growth. Ask the Lord to continue to build up these men so that they may be strong, godly leaders of MCC.
3. Sunday (18 June) was a big day for MCC! We had a “Fellowship Lunch” to which members invited friends for worship and a free buffet lunch afterward. Almost 60 children and 70 adults were in attendance. After lunch, 20 visitors and many of our members stayed for our “Welcome to the Family Class”- an informational seminar that is an important “doorway” for folks to become new members at MCC. Praise God for a great day of fellowship, and ask Him to bring more and more people into the body here at MCC so that we may fellowship, worship and serve together.
Beth Tunick1. Pray for God to send at least one more teacher for the 2006-2007 school year....and while we're waiting on God, pray that we make good decisions regarding the upcoming school year....i.e. how to best educate all the missionary kids here
2. Pray for my health....I just feel busy and overwhelmed, being a hostess for the interns, dealing with some time-consuming and complicated household matters, and all the while, trying to help as much as possible with the logistics and activities of the internship.
3. Pray that the interns are open to hear and learn the many things for which God has brought them here....
4. Pray especially for the two girls staying with me--Bethany Laster and Lindsey Bates--for their health and for the difficult things that they are seeing here in Ugandan culture....pray that they feel some peace about how the Lord is moving and working in the Ankole people......
The Baker Family1. Praise the Lord that we had a wonderful first week of internship!
2. Pray that our interns will stay healthy.
3. Praise Him for bringing Stacey Gusye to hold day camps for all of the team kids.
4. Praise the Lord for the fun night of celebration we shared with the team and Doug and Rochelle Waddill.
5. Pray that the interns will see what the Lord has for them in their ministry days. Pray that we will not try to impress or be someone that we are not for the interns.
6. Pray for the LABS course taking place this week.
7. Pray for our worship time in Rwamusharira.
Lori and David Earles1. We have two wonderful teachers (Terri Taylor and Beth Tunick) for our missionary kids’ school this coming year. We need one more. Please pray that God will provide that teacher for us.
2. Pray for David’s second-grade teacher, Amy Howard, who has just returned to the US to teach. We miss her already.
3. Pray for Richard Chowning and his three children and their families at this unbelievably sad time. Richard and Cyndi Chowning have served in Benin, West Africa for the past several years. Cyndi was killed in a road accident this past week. All of us who knew and loved her are so sad. I praise God that I had the opportunity to witness Cyndi’s genuine example of a life committed to God and his eternal mission.
4. Praise God with me that my life became so much easier when some kind and generous friends provided the funds for a much needed generator to run my house. Because of lack of rain and several East African countries depending on Lake Victoria for electricity, availability of electricity country-wide has been cut back to every other day!
